That became my target gun and I used Glock for IPSC. So just for fun I took an old Luger and converted it like the Mauser Targetluger from the 70th, heavy barrel and adjustable sight. In IPSC my losses was often low hits when trying to shoot fast. To me the 1911 is extremely fault sensitive and the slightest mistake costs the hit immedeately and that in all diciplines. I have competed in our national version of bullseye, IPSC and a special national dicipline called Field target. I did in the past mostly compete with 1911 custom pistols, both single stack and para frames. I do definitely understand what you mean and I belive that you got to get a gun that fits to yourhands and normal angle.
